Event Guide: Dalkey Festival, Kings of Concrete, Big Bang + more
Hi All!
A little late for the event guide this week, but here it is – cobbled together in light speed – I hope you will get the mail before the weekend!
Thanks to Karolina I can tell you about the King of Dalkey Festival this week! I had never heard about this, until Karolina told me, and that despite the fact that is is “Dublin’s Oldest Festival”. Music and Art and it looks interesting.

The Bray Summer Fest is still on as well. Not too much going on this week at that Festival, but the markets and children’s entertainment is still there. www.braysummerfest.com/
In the City Centre you can go to Kings of Concrete tomorrow at Wood Quay around the Civic Offices, it is a all-day session for the BMXers, skaters, bladers and breakdancers among you, but there is other entertainment and music as well. Let it out! You always wanted to breakdance and skate the half-pipe didn’t you? www.kingsofconcrete.com This event is part of Dublin City’s Summer in Dublin activities.
The Temple Bar Diversions Festival will have: Big Bang 2 at 2pm (90m)
Members of Ireland’s drumming community De jimbé, maSamba and Heartbeat percussion from Singapore will hit Temple Bar with a bang as they parade into Meeting House Square from different locations for an afternoon of pulsating rhythm, percussion and sound.

And some more: Dublin City Cycle.
The 10km Dublin City cycle starting in the IFSC is on July 29th. www.dublincitycycle.ie/ You have to register, so hurry!
By the way the African Festival that is in some places advertised for this weekend will be on NEXT weekend: www.festaac.com
Wow, what a busy weekend!
Enjoy,
–Joerg

Disclaimer: This Event Guide is sent to friends and collegues of mine to lot you know about events (usually free!) in the Greater Dublin Area. I started this because some friends asked me to share my weekend plans with them as I went to all types of festivals and searched for more. ;-) If u don’t want to receive this mail, just let me know. If you have feedback, good or bad, PLEASE tell me. BTW: I have no affiliation with any of the organisers and don’t get any reward from them for advertising their events.
