Wishing you a great Saturday!

After Halloween, the next stop of the “time train” is Christmas and there is NO denying: It is just around the corner. But it is still 7 weeks, so let’s not wish the year away and enjoy the time by enjoying the events in Dublin.

This weekend, the weekend after Halloween, is traditionally a little less busy and in the coming week, when kids are back in school, all the venues that ran evens for kids during the mid-term break will recover again. But there is never a time in Dublin when you can’t find events.

My “challenge” every Friday is to find these events for you and to add them to this “Dublin Event Guide (for Free Events)”. Some event organisers seemingly forgot during the lockdown years how to promote their events and consequently I more often than before find out about events AFTER the Dublin Event Guide is sent out. Facebook has still not fixed the problems on the event pages, but then Facebook has a stopped caring about delivering a good service anyway, it seems. So sometimes, finding these evens is really a challenge.

Your “challenge” is to find time to enjoy the events. And I bet you find yourself often enough tooooo busy in your life to even care about cultural events. Right? I get you and sometimes feel the same. But hopefully you at least sometimes find time to get out. Your soul (and sanity) needs that and the event organisers will thank you for coming to their great events.

Donations in November:
EUR 91

(By the end of the month, this number has to reach or exceed EUR 200 to guarantee the continuation of the Dublin Event Guide.)

If the Dublin Event Guide helps you to find out about free events in Dublin, please help with a donation.

The counter here shows the current donation status. By the end of the month EUR 200 will be subtracted to pay the bills. If more money has been donated, the rest will be carried forward. If donations have stopped below the EUR 200, the missing amount will be carried over.

The great people that donated last week were Olwyn, Eric, Breffni, Lisa, Lorna, Maria, Elisabetta, MS and Mary! Thank you so much! Your donation will keep the Dublin Event Guide alive and will motivate me to continue week after week. I appreciate you and your support!

With the above counter you know at all times where we stand and when donating is needed. Donations keep the Dublin Event Guide alive and all donors will also get some additional bonuses. The first of those bonuses is described above.

Here are some more details about donations:
Any amount is appreciated, but if you are looking for a recommendation, then I suggest a donation of 12 Euro per year. – That’s just one Euro per month and you get FOUR Dublin Event Guides for that! If your funds are limited, but you still want to help, you can buy a virtual coffee for just EUR 3. All donations will be used in full for the Dublin Event Guide.

To donate, use the Dublin Event Guide Donation Page here: gturl.eu/DEGdonate. It is really easy to use and uses Stripe’s trustworthy payment processing. You can even sign up for a yearly subscription on the donation page! Yearly subscriptions will give some important financial stability and reliability to the Dublin Event Guide and are therefore very much appreciated! (Look for the RED subscription buttons at the bottom of the Donation Page.)

In case the donation page doesn’t work for you, the old links are here: You can donate via www.paypal.me/DublinEventGuide or for Revolut users among you, just use @joergbrb or now also revolut.me/joergbrb
(If possible, please send your full name and e-mail address as a message with the payment via PayPal or Revolut so that I can tell you about bonuses for donors when available.)

To buy one or two or even three virtual coffees for the Dublin Event Guide, come to the “Buy Me a Coffee” page here www.buymeacoffee.com/DublinEventG

And there is one other way to help and it is even free: If you come to www.DublinEventGuide.com and check out some of the ads and click on the ones that you find interesting, that also helps with a few cent! ?

Thank you!!

And there is more…

+++ Tuscan Buffet Party [Ad]
Do you like Italian Food and Wine? Then this event, organised by Gianni from the “Italian Food and Wine in Ireland” meetup group, is definitely for you! Gianni invites to the Mount Merrion Community Centre, where on Sun 20 Nov from 17:45-21:00 he will introduce you to a great variety of delicacies from the region in Italy he comes from. There will be breads, cold cuts, sausages and cheeses on a buffet and there will be Tuscan wine.
Meet other foodies and friends of Italy and of Italian food and find out more about Tuscany.
The Mount Merrion Community Centre is only 500 metres from the N11 (Stillorgan Road) which is served by the bus routes 46A, 155, 145, 7B and a good few more. So it is really easy to get there. There is also plenty of free parking.
Tickets are EUR 31 per person and are available via www.getthislink.com/TuscanBuffet (Booking required)

+++ Dublin City Inclusion and Integration Week
You would never expect some really interesting events behind this boring name and I think Dublin City should do some brainstorming to come up with a catchier, more interesting event title.
The events are intended to bring together young people, older people, people with disability, members of the Traveller Community and migrants.
The Dublin City Inclusion and Integration Week is running from 07-14 November There are more than 100 events online and in person from walking tours, via talks, workshops, exhibitions, film screenings, foreign language conversation classes, to music and more.
All events are listed here: dublincityinclusion.ie/2022-events/

+++ LOW PRICED BOOKS (WITH FREE DELIVERY)
Book Depository is the place where you can buy low priced books, usually for better prices than on Amazon. And Book Depository always delivers for free. By buying books from Book Depository you will also help the Dublin Event Guide for no additional cost to you, so two good reasons in one. Use this link: shor.by/BookDepository

+++ LOTS of Trinity College Talks
Trinity College is offering really interesting talks and LOTS of them. There are so many that I couldn’t include them all, so please check out www.tcd.ie/news_events/events/ and if you check before Monday, then click on “NEXT WEEK” towards the top to see all the events that take place next week.

+++ LEARN A NEW SKILL WITH ONLINE COURSES
Is there ever a wrong time for learning a new skill or enhancing what you are already interested in? Maybe it is a language or an instrument or some technical skills? Or somethign completely different? Nearly every subject is there! Check out Udemy via the link below, they have thousands of courses and there is good chance that what you are looking for is available. Nearly all the courses are REALLY affordable!
The lowest price most of the time is EUR 12.99. Sometimes it even goes doen further to EUR 9.99 and when that happens (about once or twice a year), I will tell you. But even 12.99 is definitely a good price for what you get!

Check out the website at www.getthislink.com/Udemy22 And if you buy through that link, you also help the Dublin Event Guide! :-)

And this is it for another week! Have a great weekend and good new week.

Take care,
