+++ The Capel Street Event
Éadaoin Fitzmaurice, journalist and social media person from Arklow has declared Capel Street to the “coolest street” in Dublin and the Time Out Magazin put it on Rank 22 out of 33 in their list. You might whole-heartedly agree or very much disagree with this declaration by a single journalist, but Dublin City is chuffed like mad and uses it heavily as a confirmation that the sort-of-pedestrianisation (cyclists are still allowed to race down the street and e-scooter users do it illegally) was the right thing to do.
This Sunday, Dublin City is running “The Capel Street Event”, a family-friendly celebration of this “coolest street” tag, awarded by one journalist. (You might sense that I am not 100% convinced that the tag is justified. ;-) )

For the 36th time the yearly “Sculpture in Context” exhibition will be in the National Botanic Gardens. 120 artists are showing their work and the bigger pieces are wonderfully integrated in the park. The sculptures will be in the park from 01 Sept to 07 Oct (inclusive). And because admission to the Botanic Gardens is free anyway, visiting this exhibition is free too. sculptureincontext.ie
