+++ Last month of Science Gallery Dublin
As it stands (and as far as we know), this is sadly the last months of the Science Gallery Dublin. In October it was announced that Trinity College, the university that claims it has “a responsibility to demonstrate leadership, drive research and provide inspiration to the rising generations”, will shut down the most inspiring museum and most accessible science&research entry point for young people in Dublin. No demonstrated leadership in that area anymore from TCD! And all this while the former Professor of Engineering & The Arts in Trinity College Dublin, Linda Doyle, is currently provost (that is the head of the university). The Science Gallery is the PERFECT combined Engineering & Arts space and the former Engineering & Arts professor shuts it down. What irony! For you, it means that you only have another 3 weeks to visit the very last exhibition, which is called “Bias: Built this way” and looks at how our human bias and prejudice even influences machines that use artificial intelligence. Opening hours are Wed 11:00-18:00 / Thu 11:00-19:00 / Fri 11:00-18:00 / Sat 12:00-17:00 and Sun 12:00-17:00. Gone are the long and flexible opening hours in the evening and the great Science Gallery shop and the Cafe are already closed, but use the chance to visit this last exhibition! dublin.sciencegallery.com/bias

+++ Dublin Bowie Weekender
The Dublin Bowie Festival was meant to take place this weekend, but due to the current restrictions, it had to be postponed to April 2022. But to make sure that you still can celebrate your love and devotion to David Bowie, there will be interviews and music from the Dublin Bowie Festivals between 2017 and 2021 on the festival’s Facebook Page and YouTube channel. +++ Ireland on the Box – 60 years of television in Ireland – Exhibition
A new photo exhibition celebrating six decades of television in Ireland is now open at the National Photographic Archive in Temple Bar, marking RTE television turning 60 on New Year’s Eve 2021.

The exhibition is a collaboration between RTE and the National Library of Ireland (NLI) and it explores entertainment, drama, sport, music, education and news and current affairs programming.

You will be reminded of the presenters, performers and people who have made their contribution to Ireland’s culture and life and if you grew up with Irish TV, you should visit this exhibition and be reminded of important aspects and components of your upbringing.

+++ The Treaty 1921: Records from the Archives – Exhibition
From 07 Dec to 27 March the Coach House in the gardens of Dublin Castle will be the home of a National Archives exhibition about “The Treaty 1921: Records from the Archives”. The Anglo-Irish Treaty of 1921 is the centre piece of the exhibition. The National Gallery is usually free anyway, but in current times you will have to book tickets to get access and you have to enter the building on the Merrion Street side.
