A weekly car boot sale, one of less than a handful that is still reliably taking place, has up to 200 cars/sellers. The stadium is just a few minutes walk from the Red LUAS line stop and numerous bus stops. For traders the Car Boot Sale opens at 06:30 for buyers from 08:00. If you are interested in selling, check the details and register on their website.

The weekly Honest2goodness food market in Glasnevin has fresh meat, vegetables, fish, baked goods, and wines. It is open from 09:30-16:00. It is behind Lidl in the Industrial Estate just after the Glasnevin Cemetary coming from the City Centre.

Parkrun Ireland is organising free weekly runs in parks. It is a timed run over 5km and participation is completely free, but registration before your first parkrun is required.

The SuperNatural Food Market is taking place every Saturday from 09:30-15:30 in St. Andrews Resource Centre in Pearse Street, Dublin 2.

The Green Door Market is a new indoor food/Farmer’s Market that takes place just a few doors down from the Dublin Food Co-op at Newmarket in Dublin 8. Admission is free.

Opening hours are Thu-Fri 12:00-19:00 and Sat 09:30-16:00.

The Belgard Weekend Market is an indoor market with stalls with handcraft (incl. designer jewellery, aran jumpers and wool, christening robes and shawls, cards and cross stitch), household items, bric and brac, furniture, flowers, make-up, clothes, shoes, showers, upholstery, toys, kitchens, cafe, army memorabilia, collectors items, sweets, handbags books, blinds, party shop, tools and more.

It is open every Saturday and Sunday and is located in the Glen Abbey complex (opposite Jacobs) on Belgard Road.

There will be a market at Christ Church Cathedral on Saturday and Sunday organised by Christ Church Cathedral, but it seems they forgot to spread the word.

I only found out by coincidence because our friends from www.paperbear.ie will sell their great pop-up cards there and they luckily mentioned the market on their Facebook Page.

The 98FM Water slide is at Wine Tavern Street, next to Christ Church, so that is probably the reason for this impromptu market. I would expect a mix of food stalls and craft stalls there.

It runs on Saturday from 10:00-18:00 and on Sunday from 12:30-18:00. Admission is free.

Dublin City Hall has a museum/exhibition in the basement, called “The Story of the Capital”, it is an exhibition that you should definitely check out at some stage.

To celebrate the Easter Rising Anniversary, admission to that exhibititon is free for the whole year!!

Opening hours are Monday-Saturday 10:00-17:15.

The Dublin Maker Fair is a family friendly showcase of invention, creativity and resourcefulness and a celebration of the maker movement. It’s a place where people show what they are making and share what they are learning, a big creative carnival.

Makers range from tech enthusiasts to hackers, crafters, coders, educators, tinkerers, hobbyists, engineers, artists, science clubs, students, authors and commercial exhibitors. They are of all ages and backgrounds and from all over Ireland and beyond.

This year, there will be Bamboo Bikes, Paper Pets, LED 3D Avatars, Raspberry PI and Arduino projects and experts, Physic Buskers who will explain complicated things in an easy way, MIDI Music Instruments, Robots, Wood-Turning, 3D Printing, Homebrewing, Origami, Drones, App Development and sooo much more. The Makeshop, TOG, DLRLexIcon Makers, Makerdojo and lots of other groups and organisations will also tell you what they are doing and how you can be part of the maker community.

In previous years the event took place on the Phyiscs Square in Trinity College and it is great that it is growing further and has moved to Merrion Square.

If you like making, building, creating things or if you are just fascinated finding out how creative other people can be, come to this event, I will definitely be there! ;-) And a regular question: Is it suitable for kids? Definitely! There is something for everybody.

The hugely popular Festival of Curiosity will be back from 21-24 July. It is a (family) festival that celebrates science, arts, design and technology and I already included for the last two weeks it in the “Upcoming Events” section of the Dublin Event Guide, because tickets for free events go like hot cakes!

The festival runs from Thursday until Sunday and a lot of free events that needed tickets are booked out, but there are still some tickets available and there are also drop-in events. Also: Many non-free events are very low priced (EUR 2 or EUR 4), so you should definitely check out the full programme to see if you find anything that appeals to you.

I will list in this Dublin Event Guide some of the free events that are not booked out yet (at the time of writing this!), but as I said, check the full programme!!! ;-)

The two main “walk-in” events on Saturday and Sunday are

Jamestown Flea Market + Car Boot Sale takes place every Sat+Sun from 10:00-17:00. You can reach it from Tyrconnell Road and from Kylemore Road and it is within 3 min from Black Horse stop on the red Luas line. There is free parking.

The Malahide Festival is taking place on Saturday and Sunday and it looks as if Malahide will be VERY busy this weekend with lots of great events. The venues/sites will be The Green, New Street, The Stage and the Beach.

The County Council Market (CoCo) in Marlay Park is taking place every Saturday and Sunday. You will find a wide range of products. There will be food to eat there and food to cook at home but also crafts and arts and books and lots more.

Pace Pilates are inviting to a free open air pilates class and a talk by a life coach following the talk.

Dublin Fire Brigade Historian and serving Firefighter/Paramedic Las Fallon is giving tours of Dublin Fire Brigade 1916 exhbition in City Hall Dublin every Saturday in July. Tours take place at 11:30, 13:00 and 15:00 and are suitable for all ages.

“Terra Incognita: An introduction to Abstract Painting” is a workshop with Damien Flood.

Damien Flood will demonstrate a series of techniques and exercises that will show how to transform everyday objects into abstract paintings. This is a practical hands on workshop that is suitable for beginners or painters with experience, who are just curious about abstract painting.

Admission is free, but booking via the Eventbrite website here is required.

Six times will the “People’s Art 2016″ exhibition take place this year. It is an art exhibition by individual artists on the rails/fence of St. Stephen’s Green. You can admire or buy all sort of paintings there.

Visiting the People’s Art Exhibition is free and you will be able to admire (and buy) a huge amount of art works. The event starts close to 11:00 and typically finishes around 17:00, it runs from Friday until Sunday with the main activity on Saturday and Sunday.

People’s Art Dublin is a voluntary, part time, non profit making group, brought together by Dublin City Council to promote the visual arts to the public of Dublin. A huge variety of art/paintings are displayed and if the weather is nice it is a great art-filled stroll around Stephen’s Green. Definitely recommended!

The Dublin Naturalists’ Field Club invites children to this Pond Dipping event where they will explore the weird and wonderful diversity of insects and mini beasts living in and around the pond at the Botanic Gardens. Suitable for ages 8+

The Terenure Village Market has moved to Bushy Park and is from now on a weekly market.

The market has now grown to 40 stalls offering a whole variety of foods and crafts.

The National Gallery has an extensive programme of free talks, public tours and Art Documentary screenings focusing on highlights of the European and Irish Collection every day of the week. Check their website for details.

‘The Battle of Somme’ was released in September 1916 and was seen by more than 20 million people in Britain and Ireland. It was hoped that the film would rally civilian support for the war and highlight a great victory.

The film has been restored and you can now watch it with a short introduction by Lar Joye, curator of the ‘Recovered Voices’ exhibition. Running time 77 minutes.

Admission is free and no booking required. Places will be allocated on first-come basis 15 minutes before start.

A 80m long water slide will be on Wine Tavern Street on Saturday and Sunday, just outside of Dublinia and next to Christ Church Cathedral.

The sponsors are 98FM and HB Ice Cream and 98FM gave all the tickets to their listeners, so if you go there you will not be able to use the slide unless you already won a wristband. But you can watch others sliding down.

Definitely not as exciting as being on it yourself, I know, but it appears that some people were prepared to sell their first born just to get a wristband. It’s just a waterslide, people! ;-)

P.S. If you read somewhere that the water slide is 260ft long, then be reminded that “feet” were replaced by metres in the 1970s!!!! :-D The slide is nearly 80m long!

The Bray Air Display will take place this weekend and for the first time it has been extended to two days (Sat + Sun).

There will be 27 jets and 46 aircraft in the air (distributed over the two days) and on the ground you will find food, a craft village, live music and family fun. I wasn’t able to find the end time for the air show, but the markets seem to end at 20:00.

Two of the most famous Aerobatic Display teams will be showing their skills: The Red Arrows and the Italian Frecce Tricolori and the Breitling Wingwalkers will be another highlight. The full air show line-up is here brayairdisplay.com/in-the-air-3/

On the ground expect huge congestion and it is strongly recommended that you arrive using public transport. Parking is VERY limited and there will be lots of traffic restrictions.

The weekly Ha’penny Flea Market is an indoor market in the Grand Social Pub, which offers vintage Men and Women’s clothing, contemporary crafts, books, DVDs, vinyl records, vintage and handmade jewellery, vintage hair styles, art, photography and much more. Grand Social’s Bar and Gourmet Coffee options are available.

The Liberies Festival is one of Ireland’s oldest and longest running community festivals and with 80% of the events being free (according to the organisers claim) family-friendly, sporting and arts events, this should appeal to everybody.

The festival will run from Mon 18 – Sat 23 July and thebig final event will be a Family Fun Day on Saturday in St Patrick’s Park (next to St. Patrick’s Cathedral): You will find Aerial Circus Troupe, Live Stage, Art Workshops, Exotic Zoo, DJ Fran and more.

Admission is free.

A Ceremonial Military Guard will parade at the site of the “National Memorial to Members of the Defence Forces who died in the Service of the State”, at Merrion Square during July and August. Ceremonies will take place at the pyramid at Merrion Square opposite the back entrance to the Dail, every Saturday from 16 July to 20 August 2015.

Units from different sections of the Defence Forces (Army, Air Corps and Naval Service) will participate in this Military Guard Ceremony to remember their comrades. Every week different units will be involved and the ceremony and the participating units are described on the website below.

The exhibition “SEEING – What are you looking at?” (24 June – 25 Sept 2016) in the Science Gallery is exploring the sensory experience of vision, understanding and perception. It looks at how us human beings see by using eye tracking technology, eye tests and colour perception, but it also shows how machines see and what their limitations are.

It is a great exhibition full of intriguing exhibits, some are very clear, others need some more explanation or you should at least read the explanatory labels that every exhibit has.

Like all Science Gallery exhibitions, SEEING is suitable for all ages with a particular focus on the age group of 15-25, but I would say that children from 10 years of age can understand the whole exhibition if they get some additional explanations and there are even some exhibits that would work for younger children.

When you go to see the exhibition, get help from the Science Gallery mediators! They are helpers (usually students or graduates) that know the whole exhibition inside out and are very happy to help with a lot more information than the little labels at the exhibits can provide. Use their excellent service and it will help you soo much more to have a better experience

The Science Gallery has very visitor friendly opening hours of Tue-Fri 12:00-20:00 and Sat+Sun 12:00-18:00.

The Swords Summer Festival will brinf you a big Family Fun Day on Saturday. On Sunday the Fingal 10k run will take place and you can watch it for free.

The Saturday programme has Bouncy Castles, Slides, Face Painters, Balloon Makers, Zip Wire, a Marquee in the Park with Magic, Music and Entertainment. Admission is free.

The Grand Dublin Swim is a day of Liffey swimming for all ages and abilities. Swims over the distances 250/ 750/ 1600/ 5000 meters will take place and they will all start at Sean O’Casey Bridge near the CHQ Building. Registration is closed and participation is – as far as I know – not free, but watching the swimmers is free. Approximately 500 swimmer will take place and the swims start every hour on the hour.

Archive at Lunchtime screenings take place Saturdays (Double Bill), Mondays and Wednesdays. The programme is changing weekly now (instead of monthly as in the past). Ballymun was founded in 1966 only and is therefore celebrating its 50th birthday this year. The Community event to celebrate the birthday is this Saturday and it will be a big free family event on the Plaza with live music, games, food and an arty party for children.

Voices of Memory by Christina Kubisch is a contemporary remembrance of the more than 49,000 Irish people who died in the First World War.

On Sunday journalist Kevin Myers will lead a guided tour and will explain and show the installation.

The New Theater supports new writing by regularly giving rehearsed readings if new works space to explore and test their works.

“All That We Foud Here” by Donagh Humphreys will be performed on Saturday.

Flaneur By Dublin brings the works of two contemporary photographers to Smithfield Plaza. Their photos are displayed in a series of large cubes, dispersed over a metal pathway installed in Smithfield Square. These large cubes become lightboxes at dusk, creating a unique display and extending the enjoyment of this open-air gallery until 21:00.

The two selected artists for Fla?neur By Dublin are Esther Teichmann (Germany) and Rik Moran (UK). They were for a residency in Ireland earlier this year, engaging with the urban and rural landscape and producing the present body of work.

Flaneur By Dublin is part of a larger project called Flâneur – New Urban Narratives. This is a new, European Union funded, 2 year long project, transforming photographers into fla?neurs and requesting them to apply a new approach to their work within the urban territory. The project involves an international network of some 20 organisations from 11 different countries, and it will be presented in the 13 partner cities.

The art installation will be on show from 02-24 July

This is a weekly Saturday night live music event event downstairs in the Wine Cave of KC Peaches Cafe. Food will be served until 21:30 and wine, minerals & music will be available until later. Admission is free and a donation into a hat at the end of the evening is appreciated.

Every Sunday, the Merrion Square Open Air Art Gallery takes place. Up to 200 artists exhibit their paintings on the railings on three sides (West, North and East) of Merrion Square and you can just enjoy the exhibition or even buy.

The Drumcondra Village Market is an arts and crafts fair in the centre of Drumcondra. There will be Food Stalls, Flea Market, Vintage Clothing, Arts&Crafts and a Pop-Up Record Store.

A weekly market with lots of food, but also many other products (art & crafts, books, etc) takes place every Sunday in the beautiful People’s Park in Dun Laoghaire. It is a very popular market and with around 50 vendors also one of the bigger markets.

The well known Palestrina Choir sing every Sunday at the mass in St Mary’s Pro-Cathedral. They sing complete masterworks by Mozart, Haydn, Dvorak, Palestrina, de Victoria, usually accompanied by Prof. Gerard Gillen on the organ, who often also plays a solo piece.

Six times will the “People’s Art 2016″ exhibition take place this year. It is an art exhibition by individual artists on the rails/fence of St. Stephen’s Green. You can admire or buy all sort of paintings there.

Visiting the People’s Art Exhibition is free and you will be able to admire (and buy) a huge amount of art works. The event starts close to 11:00 and typically finishes around 17:00, it runs from Friday until Sunday with the main activity on Saturday and Sunday.

People’s Art Dublin is a voluntary, part time, non profit making group, brought together by Dublin City Council to promote the visual arts to the public of Dublin. A huge variety of art/paintings are displayed and if the weather is nice it is a great art-filled stroll around Stephen’s Green. Definitely recommended!

The National Gallery has an extensive programme of free talks, public tours and Art Documentary screenings focusing on highlights of the European and Irish Collection every day of the week. Check their website for details.

At the Blackrock Market in the centre of Blackrock, you’ll find 50 stalls selling collectibles, antiques, handmade goods, books, food & there’s free popcorn, ballons & facepainting for the kids.
Open on Sundays: 12:00-17:30. Open on Saturdays and Bank Holidays: 11:00-17:30.

The Bray Air Display will take place this weekend and for the first time it has been extended to two days (Sat + Sun).

There will be 27 jets and 46 aircraft in the air (distributed over the two days) and on the ground you will find food, a craft village, live music and family fun. I wasn’t able to find the end time for the air show, but the markets seem to end at 20:00.

Two of the most famous Aerobatic Display teams will be showing their skills: The Red Arrows and the Italian Frecce Tricolori and the Breitling Wingwalkers will be another highlight. The full air show line-up is here brayairdisplay.com/in-the-air-3/

On the ground expect huge congestion and it is strongly recommended that you arrive using public transport. Parking is VERY limited and there will be lots of traffic restrictions.

The exhibition “SEEING – What are you looking at?” (24 June – 25 Sept 2016) in the Science Gallery is exploring the sensory experience of vision, understanding and perception. It looks at how us human beings see by using eye tracking technology, eye tests and colour perception, but it also shows how machines see and what their limitations are.

It is a great exhibition full of intriguing exhibits, some are very clear, others need some more explanation or you should at least read the explanatory labels that every exhibit has.

Like all Science Gallery exhibitions, SEEING is suitable for all ages with a particular focus on the age group of 15-25, but I would say that children from 10 years of age can understand the whole exhibition if they get some additional explanations and there are even some exhibits that would work for younger children.

When you go to see the exhibition, get help from the Science Gallery mediators! They are helpers (usually students or graduates) that know the whole exhibition inside out and are very happy to help with a lot more information than the little labels at the exhibits can provide. Use their excellent service and it will help you soo much more to have a better experience

The Science Gallery has very visitor friendly opening hours of Tue-Fri 12:00-20:00 and Sat+Sun 12:00-18:00.

A 80m long water slide will be on Wine Tavern Street on Saturday and Sunday, just outside of Dublinia and next to Christ Church Cathedral.

The sponsors are 98FM and HB Ice Cream and 98FM gave all the tickets to their listeners, so if you go there you will not be able to use the slide unless you already won a wristband. But you can watch others sliding down.

Definitely not as exciting as being on it yourself, I know, but it appears that some people were prepared to sell their first born just to get a wristband. It’s just a waterslide, people! ;-)

P.S. If you read somewhere that the water slide is 260ft long, then be reminded that “feet” were replaced by metres in the 1970s!!!! :-D The slide is nearly 80m long!

There will be a market at Christ Church Cathedral on Saturday and Sunday organised by Christ Church Cathedral, but it seems they forgot to spread the word.

I only found out by coincidence because our friends from www.paperbear.ie will sell their great pop-up cards there and they luckily mentioned the market on their Facebook Page.

The 98FM Water slide is at Wine Tavern Street, next to Christ Church, so that is probably the reason for this impromptu market. I would expect a mix of food stalls and craft stalls there.

It runs on Saturday from 10:00-18:00 and on Sunday from 12:30-18:00. Admission is free.

As part of the 1916-2016 Centenary Commemorations, a free tour will take at Arbour Hill Cemetery every Sunday at 14:00. (from March until end of October).

The “Dublin Sketchers” is an informal group of (hobby) artists who go somewhere different in Dublin every Sunday (e.g. National Museum, Maritime Museum, Dublin Flea Market, Farmleigh, Botanic Gardens, Dublin Castle, Science Gallery, …), sketch for one to two hours and then meet up for coffee afterwards and discuss their sketches.

There are some hugely talented people among them and it is a great idea to meet up with others who have the same hobby. Unlike the three branches of the National Museum, the National Print Museum is normally not free, but every Sunday there is a free public tour for the next few weeks. Every visit begins with a short audio-visual presentation where the audience can observe active retired printers providing practical demonstrations of machines from the Museum’s collection.

Route 66 will play a gig on the bandstand in Bray. The Bray Air Display was happening before the gig, so there will be LOTS of people in Bray, Be prepared for a lot of congestion and use public transport.

Flaneur By Dublin brings the works of two contemporary photographers to Smithfield Plaza. Their photos are displayed in a series of large cubes, dispersed over a metal pathway installed in Smithfield Square. These large cubes become lightboxes at dusk, creating a unique display and extending the enjoyment of this open-air gallery until 21:00.

The two selected artists for Fla?neur By Dublin are Esther Teichmann (Germany) and Rik Moran (UK). They were for a residency in Ireland earlier this year, engaging with the urban and rural landscape and producing the present body of work.

Flaneur By Dublin is part of a larger project called Flâneur – New Urban Narratives. This is a new, European Union funded, 2 year long project, transforming photographers into fla?neurs and requesting them to apply a new approach to their work within the urban territory. The project involves an international network of some 20 organisations from 11 different countries, and it will be presented in the 13 partner cities.

Music has played a vital role in the life and work of Saint Patrick’s Cathedral for centuries. Come and take part in this musical workshop where participants will learn to sing music performed in medieval times, as well as learning something of what it takes to work as a team of bell ringers using chime bars and beaters.

The Terns (birds!) have returned to the Dalkey islands for another season and the new Tern Warden will be running a ‘Dalkey Tern Watch’ to watch the terns and all the wildlife we can see from the pier. First Skeeze is the first in a three part experimental poetry series at Studio 6, Temple Bar Gallery + Studios.

The organsiers describe:
Skeeze, is a word used by James Joyce in Ulysses, meaning ‘to ogle’. Skeeze is the starting point for this experimental poetry series, drawing attention to the voy eurism of the audience’s gaze. Rather than focusing on the performers, Skeeze will turn the gaze towards the audience. The poetry at Skeeze will be both experimental and leaning towards the traditional. Poetry that crosses the boundary into live art and theatre. Poetry that uses visual as well as aural elements. Cut-up poetry or comic poetry that actively engages with the audience will be performed. Skeeze aims to challenge the audiences preconceived idea about what poetry can be.

EveryTuesday at 19:00, The Dublin Language Exchange takes place in the Czech Inn. It is the biggest free meeting of people from all around Dublin that are interested in learning languages and communicate with speakers of other languages.

Rumours have it that the Bluegrass Collective will perform in Sin É on Tuesday and there might even be an open Bluegrass Jam! Admission is free.

The King Kong Club is a weekly music game-show in Whelan’s.

Each week 6-7 bands/solo artists play three songs each. At the end of all the performances a clap-off with the King Kong Club Clap-o-Meter takes place and the winner goes through to a semi-final and it all culminates after six months of competition with The Grand Final, held in front of a panel of celebrity judges.

This workshop for babies and toddlers (4 months-14 months) focuses on exploring colour, shape and texture. Artist Helen Barry developed these early years workshop with the support of Dun Laoghaire Rathdown County Coucil. The National Gallery has an extensive programme of free talks, public tours and Art Documentary screenings focusing on highlights of the European and Irish Collection every day of the week. Check their website for details.

Under the Sea is a multi-sensory workshop for children aged 2-3. It will use sound, movement and visual art to explore the world under the sea without getting wet. Parents are expected to participate in this workshop, engage with their child and hopefully get plenty of ideas to try out at home with their children.

The Irish Film Board present their collection of “After ’16” short films. After ’16 is commemorating and celebrating the centenary of the Easter Rising in 1916.

The nine short films that make up the collection are a creative response by Irish filmmakers to the 1916 events. The stories told are a mixture of live action drama, animation and documentary.

The screening will take place on Wednesday and admission is free.

The author of the Vroom-Town series of books Emer Conlon will come to a number of libraries on July. Kids from 3-7 are invited to this fun and interactive storytelling session and meet the characters from the Vroom-Town series. Listen to the adventures of Sparkle, Bullydozer and Screech.

Every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday in July and August a free drop-in drawing class will take place. On Wednesday the theme is “Capturing Movement”.

These workshops are for adults and teens and all materials will be provided. Places are limited to 25 participants on a first come first served basis.

The Temple Bar “Night” Market is more an afternoon and evening market (15:00-20:00) and it takes place every Wednesday until September.

You can buy Arts & Crafts at this market.

In previous years the missing food and drink stalls (probably to protect the pubs and restaurants in Temple Bar) was mentioned by visitors as a critique.

The “Havana International Language Exchange” is taking place every Wed from 16:30-19:30 in Havana Tapas Bar in George’s Street. There are many Spanish speakers and English-speakers are explicitly invited, but everyone else is certainly very welcome too, to meet for a chat to improve your Spanish or English.

GAZE 2016 is the international LGBT Film Festival in Dublin this year and at this event a look back to the 2015 festival will bring you a screening of Irish made short films for GAZE from 2015.

After the screening a short discussion with film-makers Kara Holmes and Eoin Maher will inform you about their process of creating a film.

Do you remember “Shakespeare in the Park”? The great team at Fortune’s Fool Production originally started in Ranelagh Gardens, then they moved to Iveagh Gardens and this year all their work has been recognised and they are going on a nationwide tour to Irish Monument, but luckily they still spend a good bit of time with us.

The play is “Measure for Measure”, a lesser known play by Shakespeare. Details about the play are here.

“Temple Bar – A History” is a new book by Maurice Curtis. It will be launched in the Gutter Bookshop on Wednesday.

“Human Rights in Mexico: disappearances, teachers strikes and the work of SIPAZ” is the topic of the next Wednesday Talks by the Latin American Solidarity Centre. Admission is free.

“The recent deaths of activists in Oaxaca involved in the teachers’ strike have once again placed Mexico in the spotlight on the question of human rights abuses, and there seems to be no end to the spiralling number of the disappeared.
Liam Bradshaw, from SIPAZ, International Service for Peace, will give an update on the latest events and talk about the work of this organisation.”

The Green Door Market is a new indoor food/Farmer’s Market that takes place just a few doors down from the Dublin Food Co-op at Newmarket in Dublin 8. Admission is free.

Relatively Speaking is a guided walking tour that takes place across three contemporary art galleries in Dublin: Project Arts Centre, the Gallery of Photography and Temple Bar Gallery + Studios.

The tours introduce the current exhibitions in these galleries to all participants and it will take approximately 60 minutes in total with 15-20 minute tours in each of the galleries.

Beginning at Project Arts Centre, you will be introduced to Brian Duggan’s installation Ryou-Un Maru. At the Gallery of Photography you will see the exhibition Thirteen Works by Pieter Hugo. And at the last stop, in Temple Bar Gallery + Studios, you will be guided through the group exhibition My Brilliant Friend, curated by Rayne Booth, featuring artists Michelle Browne, Avril Corroon, Ella de Búrca, Lisamarie Johnson and Laugh a Defiance.

The Wood Quay Summer Sessions are back, a series of four lunchtime gigs/concerts in the Amphitheatre at Wood Quay. This year, the four weeks will bring four different musical styles.

Howth and Hop House 13 (a Guinness company) are bringing us the Howth Jazz & Blues Festival on the August Bank Holiday weekend from Friday 29 July until Sunday 31 July.

13 locations in Dublin 13 are taking part and there will be 17 gigs all together.
