AI vs human

Dublin Book Festival, Science Week

Hi!!
I was curious to see if ChatGPT would do a better job than me and asked it to find free events in Dublin for this weekend. ChatGPT got a lot better recently and with a very very recent upgrade, it now can also search the Internet.
And I have to admit that I was a little proud to see that the first website ChatGPT went to, to look for free events in Dublin, was the website of this “Dublin Event Guide (for Free Events)” at www.DublinEventGuide.com
ChatGPT knows where good and reliable information is provided! ;-) Because this newsletter wasn’t completed yet, it had to look elsewhere and didn’t find very good information, but when you search for it today after this newsletter is published, you should get the results you want and need. (Interestingly most results that I got from ChatGPT were not for free events, but just for events this weekend. One thing that will always be better though: ChatGPT would be MUCH faster than me. :-o )
Speaking of ChatGPT, someone who knows their stuff said during the week that the most important question he would ask in an interview for a new hire is “How good are you with suing ChatGPT?” and he would now hire someone anymore who isn’t highly familiar and comfortable with using the AI platform. Interesting direction, isn’t it?
If you are looking for a new job or just want to achieve more in the current one or in your spare time activities, maybe the following is of interest:
After my “Introduction to AI and ChatGPT” classes a few people asked if I could help them get up to speed with ChatGPT fast, so that they can use it their job or for their hobbies and interests. They didn’t want to do a course, but just wanted some intensive 1-on-1 training with me.
In response to these requests, I created an offer for a special price for all participants and because there was a good bit of interest, I also want to extend the offer to people that didn’t do my “Introduction to AI and ChatGPT” class.
So, if you or someone you know are interested, please note that for a limited time I have reduced the fee by a whopping EUR 100 as a pre-Christmas ;-) special! Go to www.getthislink.com/MasterChatGPT and check for the Promo Code there.

Donations in November:
EUR 112
(By the end of the month, this number has to reach or exceed EUR 200 to guarantee the continuation of the Dublin Event Guide.)
If the Dublin Event Guide helps you to find out about free events in Dublin, please help with a donation.
The counter here shows the current donation status. By the end of the month EUR 200 will be subtracted to pay the bills. If more money has been donated, the rest will be carried forward. If donations have stopped below the EUR 200, the missing amount will be carried over.
Last week, the wonderful people helping with donations were Varvara, Elisabetta, Brett! Thank you very much! Your help is much appreciated and is making a difference. Without it, the Dublin Event Guide can not survive.
With the above counter you know at all times where we stand and when donating is needed. Donations keep the Dublin Event Guide alive and all donors will also get some additional bonuses.
Here are some more details about donations:
Any amount is appreciated, but if you are looking for a recommendation, then I suggest a donation of 12 Euro per year. – That’s just one Euro per month and you get FOUR Dublin Event Guides for that Euro! If your funds are limited, but you still want to help, you can buy a virtual coffee for just EUR 4. All donations will be used in full for the Dublin Event Guide.
To donate, use the Dublin Event Guide Donation Page here: gturl.eu/DEGdonate. It is really easy to use and uses Stripe’s trustworthy payment processing. You can even sign up for a yearly subscription on the donation page! Yearly subscriptions will give some important financial stability and reliability to the Dublin Event Guide and are therefore very much appreciated! (Look for the RED subscription buttons at the bottom of the Donation Page.)
In case the donation page doesn’t work for you, the old links are here: You can donate via www.paypal.me/DublinEventGuide or for Revolut users among you, just use @joergbrb or now also revolut.me/joergbrb
(If possible, please send your full name and e-mail address as a message with the payment via PayPal or Revolut so that I can tell you about bonuses for donors when available.)
To buy one or two or even three virtual coffees for the Dublin Event Guide, come to the “Buy Me a Coffee” page here www.buymeacoffee.com/DublinEventG
And there is one other way to help and it is even free: If you come to www.DublinEventGuide.com and check out some of the ads and click on the ones that you find interesting, that also helps with a few cent! ?
Thank you!!

+++ Entangled Islands – Ireland & the Caribbean
05 Sept-29 Feb – 10:00-17:00 – EPIC The Irish Emigration Museum, chq Building, Customs House Quay, Dublin 1 – Adm: included in normal admission
Discover 400 years of Irish links to the Caribbean in this temporary exhibition (until February 2024) that tells the stories of a wide range of Irish people who traversed and settled in the Caribbean. It all started in the 17th century, when Irish indentured labourers were among the many thousands transported to work on islands acquired by the English. The Irish in time found their way into positions of power and privilege across the region, whether as plantation owners or colonial governors.
Entangled Islands traces this long and multifaceted history of connection through 19 key figures on either side of the Atlantic, from merchants and enslavers to poets and journalists.
Admission is included in the normal ticket price. Find out more here epicchq.com/entangled-islands/

+++ SCIENCE WEEK 2023
Science Week in 2023 will run from Sunday 12 November to Sunday 19 November and this year, the theme is what it means to be human in today’s world and how the decisions we make today, will impact humans of the future.
All events can be found at www.sfi.ie/events/ But you have to use lots of filters to find what you want and if you come back to the same site another time you have to start all over again. Maybe a project at a future Science Week could be to build a user-friendly website. :-O
There are a good few free events happening, but it is such a challenge that you will have to do it yourself. SOME of the events are in the listings above.

+++ LEARN A NEW SKILL WITH ONLINE COURSES
Is there ever a wrong time for learning a new skill or enhancing what you are already interested in? Maybe it is a language or an instrument or some technical skills? Or something completely different? Nearly every subject is there! Check out Udemy via the link below, they have thousands of courses and there is good chance that what you are looking for is available. Nearly all the courses are REALLY affordable!
The lowest price most of the time is EUR 12.99. Sometimes it even goes down further to EUR 9.99 and when that happens (about once or twice a year), I will tell you. But even 12.99 is definitely a good price for what you get! – Check out the website at www.getthislink.com/Udemy22 And if you buy through that link, you also help the Dublin Event Guide! :-)
