New Year’s Eve Light Show and New Year’s Day Concert
Hi all!
I am still away (visiting family) and had originally planned to send the next Dublin Event Guide (for Free Events) not before next weekend, but how can I not give you at least one or two suggestions for New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day? ;-)
So this is just a super short Dublin Event Guide and normal service resumes soon, but I would like to take the opportunity to ask you once again to make your opinion about the Christmas Market “ChristmasAtThe Castle” known. You can do that here: gturl.eu/XmasMarket
A good few people have filled in the questionnaire already, but I need another 30+ to have a significant enough number to go back to the organisers with all that gathered information. So if you visited the “ChristmasAtTheCastle” Christmas Market at Dublin Castle this year, please go to gturl.eu/XmasMarket
And with less Dublin Event Guides this month, I would really appreciate if you could support the Dublin Event Guide in my effort to cover the bills. The great thing is: Helping doesn’t cost you a cent, all I need is a few clicks or taps. :-)
This is how the support works and it is really super easy:
Just go to www.DublinEventGuide.com and at the top you will find the sentence “Is this what you were looking for?”. Right below that sentence you should find a rectangular ad. Please click on it!
The ad might change every time you open/refresh the page, so I can’t tell you what it is promoting. And if you don’t see an ad there, please turn your Ad Blocker off and refresh the page and then do the clicking. ;-) Thanks!
If you click on the ad, I get between 5 and 30 cent. That is not much, but if enough people help, it will do the job to cover the cost to keep the Dublin Event Guide going. Some people have asked me for the Dublin Event Guide PayPal link for direct donations and here it is: www.paypal.me/DublinEventGuide
Have a great start of the new Year!!!!!
–Joerg
And here are three free events that you need to know about. Two are for New Year’s Eve and one is for New Year’s Day.

+ Liffey Lights Midnight Moment 23:30 George’s Quay, Dublin 2
This is a video projection of the “Solar Symphony” onto the walls and buildings surrounding the Custom House Quays. It will be accompanied by a musical score performed live by a 20 piece orchestra and other musicians from a stage in the Liffey and there will also be aqua beams, lasers and a pyrotechnic show at midnight. The Liffey Lights Midnight Moment can be viewed from George’s Quay on the South Side.
(It will not be a fireworks display in the traditional sense, but there will be some limited fireworks elements.)
Admission is free and tickets are not required. There is also an earlier show from 18:00-19:30, but this Matinee show is ticketed and all tickets are long gone. For the midnight show no ticket is required.
